Spray Painter – Steel Works Madre Integrated Engineering Construction
Madre Integrated Engineering is seeking a skilled Spray Painter to join their team in Doha. The role involves the application of protective coatings to structural steel, ensuring quality and adherence to safety standards within a fabrication or erection project environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare structural steel surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, grinding, and removing rust, ensuring the required surface condition before painting.
- Mix primers, epoxy coatings, polyurethane finishes, and thinners according to approved specifications and manufacturer instructions.
- Apply protective coatings using airless and conventional spray equipment, ensuring uniform coverage and the specified coating thickness.
- Carry out stripe coating on edges, welds, bolts, and difficult‑to‑reach areas, and repair coating defects or damaged surfaces.
- Clean and maintain painting equipment and follow site safety procedures, including PPE use, ventilation, and safe handling of paints and solvents.
Required:
- 4-5 years of work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of spray‑painting experience in structural steel fabrication or erection projects.
- Proven ability to operate airless and conventional spray equipment for steel protective coatings.
Education
Qualifications:
High school certificate or vocational training in industrial painting or a related trade preferred.
- Good knowledge of steel surface preparation
- Knowledge of epoxy and polyurethane coating systems
- Knowledge of mixing ratios, pot life, and recoating intervals
- Ability to follow coating specifications
- Ability to use wet‑film thickness gauges
- Valid QID (preferred)
