Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to install, inspect, test, maintain, and troubleshoot fire alarm and fire detection systems at oil and gas facilities. The candidate must have practical experience with industrial fire alarm systems and must ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and applicable industry standards.##
Key Responsibilities
* Install, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm and fire detection systems, including control panels, smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points, sounders, strobes, and interface modules.
* Perform installation, termination, and testing of fire alarm cables, conduits, junction boxes, and associated electrical components.
* Troubleshoot faults in fire alarm control panels, detection circuits, alarm loops, and notification devices.
* Conduct routine preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of fire alarm systems.
* Carry out loop testing, continuity testing, insulation resistance testing where applicable, and functional testing of fire alarm devices.
* Assist in the testing and commissioning of fire alarm systems in coordination with commissioning engineers and supervisors.
* Verify system interfaces with firefighting systems, emergency shutdown systems, HVAC systems, and other relevant safety systems, as specified.
* Read and interpret electrical drawings, fire alarm layouts, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and technical documentation.
* Maintain inspection records, test reports, maintenance logs, and commissioning documentation.
* Ensure all work complies with approved procedures, project specifications, applicable NFPA standards, and site safety requirements.
* Follow Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and other applicable HSE procedures.
* Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, firefighting, and commissioning teams to ensure timely completion of work.## Required Skills and Experience
* Minimum 5 years of experience in fire alarm installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting.
* Relevant experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, or other industrial facilities.
* Knowledge of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
* Familiarity with fire detection devices, alarm panels, interface modules, and industrial fire safety systems.
* Ability to read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
* Knowledge of fire alarm testing and commissioning procedures.
* Understanding of applicable NFPA standards and project-specific safety requirements.
* Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work safely in industrial environments and meet project deadlines.##
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with fire alarm systems used in hazardous or classified areas.
* Familiarity with relevant NFPA 72 requirements and applicable project standards.
* Manufacturer-specific training or certification in fire alarm systems.
* Experience working under PTW systems and following Life-Saving Rules (LSR).## General Requirements
* Candidates must have relevant experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
* Must be medically fit to work at industrial project sites.
* Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and work discipline.
* Candidates with experience in both field installation and commissioning activities will be preferred.
