Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger is responsible for bagging groceries at checkout for customers.

Strive to pack at least five items per bag, ensuring contents are not damaged.

Follow best practices for bagging items in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).

Assist in removing customer's merchandise from the bottom of shopping carts for checkout.

Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.

Perform basic shelf conditioning and return merchandise to store shelves.

Inform customers of grocery specials.

Gather shopping carts and return them to designated areas.

Clean spills, and pick up trash inside the store and parking lot.

Clean all areas inside and outside of the store.

Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.

Understand the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.

Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.

Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.

Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.

Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.

Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.

Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.

Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.

Support and assist with interactions involving minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Retail experience is preferred but not required.
