Emergency Response Class A CDL Equipment Operator
Location:
Dolton, IL. Clean Harbors is seeking an Emergency Response Class A CDL Equipment Operator to operate a variety of heavy and light duty trucks/work equipment at our customer sites.
Base pay range: $15.00/hr – $41.00/hr additional pay increases may be earned within the first 12 months.
Key details: 50% travel; variable schedule based on emergency response needs; 2‑week Academy training out of state is paid and covered by the company.
Responsibilities- Ensure health and safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
- Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers on a team‑based atmosphere.
- Operate a variety of Class A trucks, including vacuum trucks, Cuscos, guzzlers, and roll‑offs.
- Perform loading, unloading, and manual labor on site to meet customer needs.
- Properly placard vehicles to meet company and DOT requirements.
- Maintain daily logs, timesheets, and other required reports.
- Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
- Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, state, and federal requirements.
- Observe all corporate operating guidelines, procedures, and environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week.
- Handle site remediation, equipment decontamination, and hazardous materials.
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Ability to obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 90 days of employment.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to use various mobile devices.
- Capable of performing required physical functions.
- Successful completion of background check, drug test, and physical exam.
- Meet facial hair standards required for respirator use under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.34.
- Commercial driver experience.
- Hazmat and Tanker endorsement already obtained.
- Previous Hazmat experience.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission.
- Previous manual labor experience.
- Health and safety prioritized (3‑6‑5 schedule).
- Focus on sustainability and environmental cleanup.
- Pay range $28‑30 per hour.
