Pay Range: $53,000 to $69,000.

Position Summary:
The ESE Teacher is responsible for overseeing and coordinating Exceptional Student Education (ESE) services for middle school and high school students to ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations. This role provides leadership in the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), supports instructional staff, and collaborates with families and stakeholders to ensure students with disabilities receive appropriate educational services in an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and oversee the development, implementation, and compliance of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and all applicable state and local regulations related to special education services.
- Collaborate with administrators, general education teachers, ESE teachers, related service providers, and parents to support student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success.
- Schedule and facilitate IEP meetings, staffing conferences, and reevaluations.
- Monitor student progress and service delivery to ensure IEP goals and accommodations are implemented with fidelity.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to instructional staff regarding accommodations, modifications, and best practices in special education.
- Coordinate assessments, evaluations, and eligibility determinations for ESE services.
- Maintain accurate and timely ESE documentation, records, and compliance reports.
- Support transition planning for students moving between programs, grade levels, or postsecondary pathways.
- Assist with curriculum alignment and instructional strategies that meet the needs of students with disabilities.
- Participate in professional development and remain current with special education laws, policies, and best practices.
- Collaborate with administration on resource allocation, staffing needs, and program improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid state certification in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Experience working with high school students in a special education setting.
- Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, compliance requirements, and ESE procedures.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, educators, and administrators.
