Position: Occupational Therapists (OT)
The Occupational Therapist (OTR) at Speech of Miami provides individualized, evidence-based occupational therapy services to pediatric clients from birth through adolescence. The OTR evaluates each child’s functional abilities and develops individualized plans of care to improve participation and independence in daily activities. Areas of treatment may include fine and gross motor development, sensory processing and regulation, visual-motor and visual-perceptual skills, self-care/ADLs, feeding-related skills when within the therapist’s competency, attention, coordination, play, and functional participation at home, school, and in the community.

The OTR works collaboratively with families, caregivers, teachers, Speech-Language Pathologists, COTAs, and other members of the child’s care team to promote functional progress and carryover across environments. The OTR is responsible for the occupational therapy evaluation and plan of care and provides appropriate supervision and direction to COTAs in accordance with applicable regulations and payer requirements.
