Dazzling Duchess – Poundbury near Dorchester

Built in 2016 by the Duchy of Cornwall but operated as part of the Hall & Woodhouse family of great pubs, the Duchess of Cornwall was so named at the direct request of the Prince of Wales and was opened by the then Prince and Duchess. The pub contains many artefacts from the Woodhouse family including The Badger glass — the largest hand‑blown glass in the world.

The building is split into sections over three floors:
Bar and the Pantry, the grand central staircase, the first floor dining room with its open kitchen, and a beautiful outside terrace.

We are looking for a bright and engaging personality to join the guest services team as Night Porter at our fabulous venue.

• Starting pay £13.11 per hour
• Pay increase to £13.45 after 6 months service

• Experienced as a Night Porter or in a similar guest service role
• Well presented and able to follow standard procedures for looking after our guests including:

• Security through the night
• Breakfast set up
• Duties as a fire marshal (after training)
• Checking in/out late arrivals and early departures
• Cleaning and maintaining our guest areas
• Serving drinks when required

Confident and organized, patient and diplomatic

• Driven to maintain impeccable guest service
• Able to reliably manage the commute
• A great team player who cares about what you do, and always strives to be the best version of yourself
