Senior Accountant

We're an accounting and finance consulting firm looking for a sharp, hands-on Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you'll support a portfolio of clients across a variety of industries, essentially functioning as their accounting team without being on their payroll. This is a great fit for a someone who wants more variety and hands-on ownership than a typical single-company staff accounting role offers — someone who's comfortable rolling up their sleeves, diving into the numbers, and thriving in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

• Support day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of clients across a variety of industries
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for each assigned client
• Prepare and analyze P&L statements and financial packages for each client, flagging trends, variances, and areas of concern
• Build and maintain financial models and reports in Excel, tailored to each client's business
• Manipulate, clean, and analyze data sets to support client reporting and decision-making
• Prioritize and manage competing deadlines across multiple clients without dropping the ball
• Support clients through acquisitions and other transactions — purchase accounting, opening balance sheets, integrating acquired entities into reporting, and related due diligence support
• Help maintain accounting policies and procedures in line with each client's needs
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking for clients
• Communicate directly with client contacts to answer questions and provide financial insights
• Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements across client accounts
• Suggest process improvements as you get familiar with each client's workflows
• Take on ad hoc projects and problem-solve in a lean, resource-conscious environment
• Help onboard new clients, getting up to speed on their books, systems, and reporting needs quickly

• CPA preferred
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong command of P&L management and core accounting principles (GAAP)
• Experience with or exposure to acquisition/transaction accounting (purchase accounting, due diligence, integration) a strong plus
• Advanced Excel skills — comfortable with formulas, pivot tables, and large data sets
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills — proven ability to manage multiple clients/priorities at once without losing accuracy or missing deadlines
• An entrepreneurial mindset — you're not afraid of a fast-moving, sometimes unstructured environment and you take initiative without waiting to be told
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills — able to build trust and translate numbers into insights for clients
• A genuine appetite for risk and responsibility; you want to keep growing your scope and skills over time
