About the CommunityWe are an affordable housing community serving residents 62 years of age and older, committed to providing well-maintained, and respectful housing in accordance with HUD and Fair Housing regulations. We value professionalism, compassion, and compliance in serving our residents.
Position SummaryThe Assistant Property Manager supports the daily operations of a HUD-subsidized affordable housing property for senior residents. This role assists with leasing, resident relations, compliance, rent collection, and administrative functions while ensuring adherence to HUD regulations, company policies, and fair housing requirements.
What You’ll Do- Maintain resident files accurately and in compliance with HUD requirements
- Assist with annual and interim recertification
- Support rent collection, prepare late notices, and post payments promptly to maximize collections.
- Maintain tenant ledgers and post daily cash receipts with precision.
- Handle bank deposits quickly and efficiently to keep finances on track.
- Support the team by processing property invoices and assisting with management-resident relations.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff regarding work orders and unit readiness.
- Assist with property inspections and audits.
- Perform general administrative duties as assigned.
- Keep everything compliant with fair housing, safety, and environmental laws – because excellence matters.
- Use your tech savvy to master software tools and streamline operations.
- At least one year of leasing or property management experience required – but enthusiasm and willingness to learn count too!
- Strong organizational skills and comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel, and quick software learning.
- Professionalism, integrity, and respect for resident privacy at all times.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
