We’re building a team at Blue Origin’s Operations to deliver strategic procurement solutions and tactical purchasing for various spaceflight systems. This Buyer II role focuses on propellant requirements, packaging, and safety across all Blue Origin facilities.
Responsibilities- Develop procurement strategy and manage day‑to‑day tactical purchasing for propellant and related commodities.
- Prepare and issue RFPs/RFsQs, perform cost analysis, and lead formal negotiations.
- Create and manage contracts—including LTAs, VMI, MSAs, PSAs—ensuring compliance with company policies and U.S. government regulations (FAR, DFAR, SOX).
- Own the procurement and scheduling process from requisition creation to final invoice payment.
- Lead strategic agreements and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve on‑time, on‑budget delivery and technical performance.
- Maintain accurate files, records, KPI dashboards, and production‑material schedules.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 7years of experience.
- Or Master’s degree with 5years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of propellant commodities, batch and micro‑bulk propellants, packaged gases, and commodity markets.
- Expertise in procurement, sourcing, supplier management, cost analysis, and contract negotiation/execution.
- Proficiency with U.S. government procurement regulations (FAR, DFAR, SOX) and internal policies.
- Analytical, data‑driven, and problem‑solving skills with ability to track and report program metrics.
- Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to define scalable processes and work effectively in ambiguous environments.
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or equivalent.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Current active DOD Secret Security Clearance or Special Access.
