Overview

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Superintendent to lead field operations for our Material Handling Division. This role is critical to ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to our high-quality standards. The Superintendent will supervise crews, manage subcontractors, coordinate with project management, and drive daily field execution across conveyor and industrial material handling system projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day field operations on assigned material handling projects.
  • Manage and coordinate crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
  • Enforce and promote a strong safety culture; ensure all safety protocols are followed.
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise installation activities (conveyor systems, racking, mezzanines, sortation equipment, etc.).
  • Work closely with project management to review schedules, resolve field issues, and forecast needs.
  • Conduct site walks, quality control checks, and punch list completion.
  • Hold daily pre-task planning meetings and regular safety toolbox talks.
  • Maintain detailed daily field reports, logs, and project documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with owners, vendors, engineers, and internal teams.
  • Monitor labor productivity and provide feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Mentor, train, and develop field crews and foremen.
  • Assist with project start-up and close-out tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a superintendent, foreman, or leadership role in material handling, industrial construction, or similar field.
  • Strong knowledge of material handling systems, conveyor installation, racking systems, and construction practices.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project schedules.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain quickly).
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.
  • Proficiency with basic technology tools (email, scheduling software, reporting apps).
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism.
