The City of Russell is seeking professional, reliable, and community-oriented individuals to join our team as a 911 Dispatcher. This full-time position provides a vital, life‑saving service by coordinating emergency efforts and working closely with public safety teams.

Under the combined supervision of the 911 Director and the 911 Assistant Director. Full‑time with shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays. On‑the‑job training provided with opportunities for certification and continuing education.
Responsibilities- Utilize a computer‑aided dispatch (CAD) system to manage emergency calls and texts.
- Dispatch police, fire, and ambulance units based on established procedures.
- Monitor multiple public safety radio frequencies and track unit locations.
- Perform clerical tasks such as record keeping and data entry.
- Handle confidential information with high integrity.
- Ability to handle high‑stress, fast‑paced situations.
- Extended periods of sitting in a confined space; occasional lifting over 50 pounds.
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Must pass pre‑employment drug screening, background check, job placement assessment, and score at least 70% on the National Dispatcher Selection Test.
- No residency requirement, but a 20‑minute response time for on‑call/emergency situations is required.
