Permanent Academic Hospitalist – Internal Medicine Residency Program

Location:

Dothan, Alabama

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Internal Medicine (IM) Physician to join our Faculty team as a Hospitalist within our GME-resident training program at our accredited academic medical center in Dothan, AL. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to engage in clinical education, scholarly activities, and meaningful patient care in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a core faculty member for the IM residency program, providing supervision, mentorship, and education to residents during clinical rotations.

Participate actively in outpatient clinics, inpatient care, and hospital-based services.

Lead and participate in academic activities including Noon Conference lectures, GME program committees, and quality improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care aligned with best practices.

Contribute to the development of residents’ clinical skills and professionalism through feedback and mentorship.

Engage in scholarly activities and contribute to the academic reputation of the program (optional but encouraged).

Qualifications:

Board certification in Internal Medicine (IM).

Clinical experience in outpatient and hospital settings preferred.

Demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching and leadership in medical education.

Possess basic outpatient procedural skills.

Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care and team leadership.

Practice Highlights:

Clinical hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with no weekend, holiday, or call obligations.
