Employment Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

Caseload: High School (Transition and Inclusion/Pull-Out)

Job Description: We are looking for a full-time Special Education Teacher to work onsite at our high school. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching two transition class periods each day (approximately 10-15 students per class) and providing inclusion or pull-out support for additional periods. The current caseload includes 23 students, and you will play a vital role in their educational journey.

• Plan and deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students' needs in transition classes and other settings.
• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and track progress toward IEP goals.
• Provide inclusion or pull-out support as needed to assist students in their general education classes.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other staff to support students' academic and behavioral needs.
• Develop and adapt instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and documentation.
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide activities.

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid Alabama teaching certification in Special Education.
• Previous experience working with high school students with special needs preferred.
• Strong organizational, munication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
