UNA: AMSTI Secondary Math Content Specialist
The Northwest Alabama Education Research and Inservice Center at the University of North Alabama is accepting applications for the position of ASMTI Secondary Math Content Specialist. This position is responsible for providing professional development, coaching, and school-based support for AMSTI teachers.
Additional responsibilities include providing assistance with summer training and other ALSDE activities, as needed.
Daily travel within the UNA Regional Inservice area, as well as some overnight travel, is required. Salary will be based on education, years of experience, and the current AMSTI salary schedule for 11-month content specialists.
* This is a grant‑funded position. Initial and continued employment in this position is contingent upon funding by the sponsoring agency.
* Sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Bachelor’s degree in math education, math, or a math related field is required.
- Master’s degree is preferred.
- Five years of teaching experience in grades 6‑12 math in an Alabama public school is required.
- AMSTI training is required.
- AMSTI training certification is preferred.
- Experience presenting professional development to adults is preferred.
- A current, valid Alabama Teaching certificate in Elementary Education, Middle School Math, or Secondary Math is required.
- Clear status with FBI and ABI fingerprinting processes is required.
- A current, valid driver’s license is required.
