Program Overview

The Monroe County CEO (Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities) Program is a hands-on, experience-based entrepreneurship course for high school students. The program connects students with local business leaders, immerses them in real-world learning, and challenges them to develop professional, entrepreneurial, and life skills that prepare them for future success.

Position Summary

The Monroe County CEO Program is seeking a part-time Facilitator to lead students through an immersive entrepreneurship experience. The Facilitator creates an engaging learning environment, cultivates strong relationships with students and the local business community, and manages the daily operations of the program. This is typically a 20–25 hour per week position, including 90 minutes of daily student contact time. The Facilitator serves as a guide and coach rather than a traditional instructor, leveraging community expertise and real-world experiences to drive student learning.

    Facilitate daily CEO class sessions using experiential, non-traditional instructional methods;

    Support student growth through weekly journals, coaching, feedback, and accountability;
    Integrate Craig Lindvahl’s Life Lessons:
    Things You Wish You Knew Yesterday throughout the program.
  • Community & Business Engagement:
    Build and maintain strong relationships with local business leaders, investors, and community partners;
    Coordinate and host business visits, guest speakers, and site locations;
    Serve as a professional ambassador for the CEO Program within the community.
  • Program Operations & Communication:
    Manage day-to-day program logistics and scheduling;
    Maintain regular communication with the CEO Board, investors, parents, and stakeholders;
    Prepare and submit monthly reports to the CEO Board;
    Manage program communication channels, including social media updates;
    Administer required Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship surveys.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable engaging with business leaders, investors, educators, and community members

  • A facilitator mindset—guides learning rather than lectures
Time Commitment
  • Part-time position: approximately 20–25 hours per week
  • Daily class time: 90 minutes with students plus preparation and follow-up
Training & Professional Development
  • Mandatory two-day New Facilitator Training in Effingham, Illinois
