Salary
Based on education and experience commensurate with Alabama Community College System Salary Schedule D1 1B ($42,108.00-$94,363.00). Nine‑month position. Summer employment may be available (additional $13,001.00-$29,184.00 for 3 months dependent on enrollment).
Job OverviewThis full‑time teaching position reports to the Associate Dean of Industrial Education and is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering quality instruction, contributing to the college’s mission.
Responsibilities- Instructor of appropriate courses in the required teaching environment(s) and evaluation of student learning.
- Class and laboratory preparation.
- Participation in curriculum development and evaluation; recommend new or revised curricula.
- Academic advising to students.
- Perform department/program responsibilities.
- Attend the FAME AMT (Advanced Manufacturing Technician) Academy and integrate Manufacturing Core Exercises and FAME soft‑skills into instruction.
- Maintain current knowledge of FAME industry partners, promote relationships.
- Attend Magic City FAME Chapter meetings.
- Recruit students and potential employer partners for the Magic City FAME Chapter.
- Perform institutional responsibilities contributing to the college’s mission.
- Follow institutional policies and procedures; fulfill terms of employment.
- Perform other duties assigned.
- Serve on college committees as assigned.
Education
:
Associate degree or equivalent in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field required.
Experience
:
Minimum of three (3) years of full‑time related work experience as a practitioner in the field required.
Preferred: Prior teaching experience; hands‑on knowledge of DC/AC theory, solid state devices, programmable logic controllers, motor controls, mechanical maintenance, hydraulic systems, gearboxes, electric motors, predictive & preventive maintenance, VFDs, fluid power, and robotics.
