TeachingResponsibilities
As a Secondary Mathematics Teacher, you will be required to teach clear engaging Math lessons and provide high‑quality instruction to all students. Specific teaching assignments may include but are not limited to Middle School Math classes, Geometry, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Advanced Placement Math, and a variety of elective courses.
Primary FunctionThe role of the Secondary Math Teacher is to ensure student achievement via instruction, adherence to the curriculum, varied assessments, and promotion of a learning environment that encourages positive student interactions. The learning shall be aligned with the mission, beliefs, and adopted standards of the CDS.
Duties and ObjectivesThe Secondary Math Teacher will work collaboratively with grade‑level team members and house colleagues to plan common and coherent learning experiences for students. The teacher will also assume the following duties and objectives on a continuous basis.
Position Requirements- Bachelor's degree, or higher, with a valid teaching certificate/license in Secondary Math.
- At least two years teaching experience in middle or high school preferred.
- Excellent command of the English language; native English speaker preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with K‑12 U.S. curriculum and the Common Core State Standards for Math.
- Experience providing high‑standard instruction and fostering student understanding.
- Teachers are required to submit an up‑to‑date criminal background check from their country of origin, as well as police background checks from all countries where they have resided over the past ten years.
All personnel in regulated activity—having regular unsupervised contact with children—are required to comply with national and international vetting procedures, including satisfactory criminal record checks from both your country of residence/birth and any country of residence within the last 10 years.
