College Lecturer
Under the supervision of the division director, associate dean, and/or Dean of Instructional Affairs, the Instructor teaches students according to established policies and procedures to provide competent and effective classroom and laboratory instruction at varied times and places based on student demand.

SALARY: Based on education and experience commensurate with the Salary Schedule. D1 IB for 9 months (range: $46,590–$72,709). Higher education may earn placement on a higher salary schedule. Additional salary for summer employment (D1 IB for 3 months, $14,384–$22,488). Summer employment is contingent upon student enrollment and College needs.

This position will be based initially at Wallace in Dothan, Alabama. More than one position may be filled if a vacancy occurs during the search process.
Responsibilities- Instruction:
Provide competent classroom and laboratory instruction in the area of credentialed expertise.- Demonstrate thorough and accurate knowledge of field or discipline.
- Interpret and evaluate theories of the field or discipline.
- Connect subject matter with related fields.
- Teach an appropriate course load.
- Plan and organize instruction to maximize documented student learning.
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies.
- Modify instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
- Encourage development of communication and higher‑order thinking skills through assignments.
- Contribute to selection and development of instructional materials.
- Evaluate classroom data, course evaluations, and success metrics.
- Incorporate core competencies into program content.
- Develop, update, and post course syllabi timely.
- Use technology to enhance teaching when appropriate.
- Student Learning:
Evaluate student progress according to institutional standards.- Establish meaningful learning outcomes.
- Develop fair assessment methods.
- Return student work promptly.
- Maintain accurate records and submit grade rosters.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to student needs.
- Implement action plans based on data for continuous improvement.
- Support of College Policies and Procedures:
Perform departmental activities to ensure efficient services.- Teach classes in a multi‑campus environment.
- Maintain office hours for advisement.
- Serve as faculty advisor.
- Prepare and submit syllabi and course outlines.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information.
- Substitute for absent instructors.
- Steward college facilities and materials.
- Participation in College, Division, and Program
Activities:
Perform college‑wide activities.- Serve on committees.
- Participate in meetings and events.
- Respond promptly to information requests.
- Support colleagues.
- Contribute to curriculum development.
- Participate in graduation ceremonies.

- Master's degree or higher in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
- Current unencumbered licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Alabama.
- Three years' clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience using Blackboard or another learning management system (preferred).
- Employment experience in nursing education (preferred).
- Experience with nursing education or healthcare accreditation processes (preferred).
