Salary: $74,172.80 - $ annually

Salary Range (PW with PE): $81,910.40 - $

This position performs engineering functions in support of the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of city infrastructure.

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field.
• Two (1) years recent responsible engineering design experience with a public or private utility and/or a technical civil engineering consulting firm preferred.
• Current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Alabama preferred.
• Accredited through an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education (CHEA).

• Possession of a valid driver license and acceptable driving record.
• In an emergency and/or standby situation, must report to his/her regular workstation within 30 minutes from notification within six months of employment.
• Must be available to be contacted via phone within 30 days of employment.
• Subject to background investigations (criminal, credit, past employment, reference checks).
• Required to submit to Drug and Alcohol testing (pre‑employment and random tests).
• Must meet the City of Dothan's employment physical standard, which includes drug/alcohol testing.
