Position SummaryForward Edge‑AI is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer Intern to support research, integration, and testing efforts within our Advanced Research & Development team. This role is ideal for a senior undergraduate or graduate student interested in RF systems, communications technologies, and system integration.
The intern will work alongside cross‑functional engineering teams to develop test plans, support system integration, analyze performance data, and contribute to documentation and process improvements.
Key ResponsibilitiesRF Systems Integration & Testing
- Support the development and execution of integration and test plans for RF and communications systems
- Assist in configuring and testing software‑defined radio (SDR) platforms
- Participate in system‑level integration activities across hardware and software components
- Analyze test data and system performance results
- Translate findings into clear reports, presentations, and actionable recommendations
- Support performance evaluation and optimization efforts
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams
- Help define interface requirements and resolve integration challenges
- Support troubleshooting and validation efforts across system components
- Document key processes, procedures, and test results with high accuracy
- Support development of technical documentation and integration workflows
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement and optimization
- Currently a senior undergraduate or Master’s student in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience working with software‑defined radios (SDR)
- Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, or MATLAB
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Analytical mindset with interest in systems integration and process optimization
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Exposure to RF systems, signal processing, or communications engineering
- Experience with testing and integration of hardware/software systems
- Familiarity with lab equipment or simulation tools
- Interest in defense, communications, or advanced technology systems
- Systems thinking and problem solving
- Analytical and data‑driven mindset

- Collaboration across engineering disciplines
