NDE Specialist - Farley

This posting is for one NDE position to be filled at Plant Farley – Dothan, Al.

Southern Nuclear has immediate openings for Nuclear Specialists in our Fleet Outage Services Department. This position reports to the Outages Services Non‑destructive examination (NDE) Supervisor or Manager and will be located at Farley Nuclear Plant, a Southern Nuclear Operating facility. The selected candidate will have a working knowledge of applicable ASME code and ANSI standards, with a minimum level of certification to Level II and Level I‑IA in Eddy Current Testing.

Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, and performing inspections in the field, evaluating inspection results, preparing and setting up test equipment, and traveling to Southern Nuclear Operating sites.

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Level II ECT (Required)
• Level I‑IA ECT (Desirable)
• Other NDE methods (Desirable)
• Industrial site experience (Desired)
• Knowledge of nuclear power plants (Required)
• Demonstrated leadership attributes (Desired)

• High level of written and verbal communication skills
• Motivated self‑starter
• Ability to manage multiple activities, e.g., outage support, planning, scheduling, implementation
• Domestic travel required, including assignments at fleet nuclear units (travel up to 50%)
• Ability to obtain unescorted access

• Knowledge of ASME/NDE codes and standards
• Knowledge of NDE methods

NOTE:

Must be able to provide the entire certification package for verification prior to employment.
