Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Flight line Avionics Technician – A320 based in Mobile, AL. The role involves performing Functional Test Procedure (FTP), pre‑ and post‑flight inspections, and preparing built aircraft for test flight and delivery readiness.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform aircraft system functional test procedures, pre‑ and post‑flight daily inspection checks, and prepare built aircraft for test flight readiness.
  • Learn new tasks and techniques to troubleshoot aircraft systems and support flightline operations at the Airbus FAL Mobile Flight line.
  • Follow level‑1 troubleshooting procedures, report and document findings accurately.
  • Conduct integrated systems testing, calibration, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair of airborne electronic flight control, navigation, and heating systems.
  • Execute pre‑test, functional or final testing of electronic systems, components or subassemblies; conduct final tuning, alignment, or calibration.
  • Troubleshoot electronic systems, components or subassemblies to determine root cause and corrective action.
  • Perform post‑dock maintenance daily checklists, safety and security inspections, and incoming inspections.
  • Carry out day‑to‑day planned and unplanned aircraft maintenance activities.
  • Pre‑induct first‑flight configuration, cabin interior, cockpit, and electronic bay inspections.
  • Set up and operate ground support and test equipment for functional flight tests of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Test and troubleshoot instruments, components, and assemblies using circuit testers and volt meters.
  • Verify and upgrade to latest aircraft avionic software versions.
  • Work closely with the systems engineer to interpret flight‑test data and diagnose malfunctions and performance problems.
  • Maintain close working relationships with leads to coordinate schedules, priorities, parts availability, and tools.
Knowledge, Skills, and Capabilities
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical theory and familiarity with aircraft tools such as torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and powered/non‑powered support equipment.
  • Proficiency in sealing techniques and understanding of sealant characteristics (storage, application, tack‑free, cure times).
  • Ability to read and interpret approved aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics, and maintenance procedures (AMM/IPC/AWD/SB).
  • Experience in process improvement, root‑cause analysis, 5S, and tools to enhance workload, quality, safety, and cycle time.
  • Participation in daily SQCDP project and FOD management.
  • Capability to work in confined spaces, at height, and in outdoor environmental conditions; knowledge of confined‑space entry, respiratory protection, and use of respirators.
  • Ability to support and train other technicians.
  • Use of standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices, test equipment, and jigs/fixtures (including crane, cherry‑picker, forklift, lifting platform).
Your Qualifications
  • Minimum 3years of experience in applied science in avionics, A&P, or FCC license; ability to obtain a Repairman Certificate.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to work a rotation shift schedule (days, evenings, weekends, holidays).
  • Valid passport permitting unrestricted travel.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5years of aviation experience, preferably in manufacturing or MRO.
  • Preferred: EASA/TCCA regulations knowledge and valid A&P or FCC license.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including report preparation.
  • Basic computer skills (email, Google Workspace, data entry).
  • Domestic and international travel required (≈5%).
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
