P.E. Structural Engineer
We have an immediate need for a P.E. Structural Engineer in the Jacksonville Beach, FL area. We are also hiring in Dothan, AL as well. This is a direct hire position, unless you are only interested in short-term work. If you are interested in only doing contract work, we have a W-2 hourly + OT option available as well. Would likely be for a minimum of 3 months or work in the same locations.
Expenses will be covered for that situation. Base annual pay $120-160k+, relevant to experience. This position is OT eligible. If you put in the hours, you can make some good money! You are expected to be available for a minimum of 40 hours per week and be able to work fairly independently.
Responsibility
- Project Management 15%
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients
• Lead scope development efforts by interfacing with clients
• Communicate scope needs to designers or other engineers
• Obtain quotes for engineering, equipment, material, and services
• Develop bid packages, lead bid meetings and evaluate bids
• Control documents generated during the course of the project.
Structural Design and Analysis, 65%
• Structural Design Leader on multi-discipline projects
• Coordinate with other disciplines as required to produce projects with the lowest total installed cost possible.
• Interact with Clients, Vendors, Contractors to obtain information pertinent to the completion of design work.
• Feed work to design team to draw and/or model o Provide detailed guidance and review for design work by others
• Perform field work o Inspect field conditions. o Verify existing field conditions. o Lay out new structures and equipment for most efficient use of space and resources.
• Perform calculations and create analysis models as required
• Work with applicable codes to ensure design compliance
• Complete written technical reports
Construction Support 15%
• Provide construction support services during construction projects and/or mill/equipment shutdowns.
• Provide field engineering support during installation by others.
• Help contractors with lockout and permitting.
• Expedite material.
• Coordinate activities with Maintenance, Production, and contractors.
• Review installation for compliance with design documents.
- Bachelors Degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering
- P.E. License
- Minimum of 5+ Years industrial design experience with concrete and steel
- Ability to Perform calculations and create analysis models with STAAD
- Pulp/Papermill experience is highly desired
