Overview
This position is not eligible for remote working conditions and is located in Dothan, AL.
As the Mortgage Production Manager, you will lead the team of Mortgage Loan Originators and ensure that all real estate policies, procedures, underwriting standards, applications, and disclosures follow applicable laws and regulations. You will oversee all aspects of the daily activities and promote a sales environment. You will be able to provide outstanding service to the members by processing mortgage loan applications while fully using job-relevant technical, service, and leadership skills.
Responsibilities- Ensure all real estate lending policies, procedures, underwriting standards, applications, and disclosures follow applicable laws and regulations.
- Ensure timely, efficient, and accurate origination of mortgage loans. Establish and implement measurable performance benchmarks. Manage all mortgage loan processes through origination to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure all Mortgage/Real Estate regulatory compliance requirements are followed (HMDA, RESPA, Quarterly NCUA, etc.).
- Perform meaningful appraisals of direct reports; focus on quality and sales and service expectations. Establish specific objectives and standards for direct reports, review performance against these periodically. Provide timely feedback on staff performance, as needed.
- Coach and mentor team members.
- Serve as a primary contact for daily interactions between CU and attorneys and mortgage product vendors/servicers.
- Complete initial and recurrent training programs as required.
- Responsible for individual origination of mortgages for application overflow.
Experience:
Education: Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field) or relevant experience

Skills:
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Skills
- Knowledge of the secondary market and experience with first and second mortgage residential real estate lending.
- Must have working knowledge of compliance and regulations affecting mortgage lending.
- Must have good communication and supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of PC programs, including knowledge of Mortgage Servicing Software.
- Knowledge of BSA/OFAC compliance and be able to assist members and employees with questions concerning BSA. Complete yearly training.
