Job OverviewSSM Health Dean Medical Group is looking for a patient care assistant to support nurses and physicians in a clinical setting located in Madison, WI. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with hands‑on patient care, maintain a clean environment, and provide basic clinical support.
ScheduleDay shift only, Monday through Friday. No nights, weekends, or holidays.
Position Duties- Patient rooming
- In‑office procedure assistance
- Injection and vaccine administration
- General clinical administrative tasks in the Epic electronic medical record system
- High school diploma or GED
- Graduation from a medical assisting school or completion of a medical assisting training program
- WI medical license for MA, CMA, RMA; EMT, paramedic, or LPN with a WI license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift 0‑50 lbs; frequent use of hearing, vision, and oral communication skills
- Ability to use a computer for data entry and electronic records
- No prior experience required, but experience in clinical settings is a plus.
- Assists with member treatment as supervised by providers, nurses, or LPNs.
- Performs selected clinical duties as directed by providers.
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on charts.
- Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
- Performs basic clerical duties, including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
- Performs basic materials management, ordering, and stocking of supplies.
- Maintains a clean and orderly environment.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safety.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED, or ten years of work experience; graduation from a medical assistant training program or equivalent.
Physical RequirementsConstant standing and walking; frequent use of hearing, vision, and speech; lifting 0‑50 lbs; repetitive hand movements; occasional patient lifting and driving.
Required Professional Licenses and CertificationsState licensure as applicable (e.g., MA, CMA, RMA, EMT, paramedic, LPN) and Basic Life Support Health Care Provider certification.
