- Friday 8am - 4pm;
This position will require some on-call, weekends, evenings, and/or holidays as needed to meet program needs.
POSITION SUMMARY/FUNCTION Plans, designs, organizes, operates, administers and supervises the total day to day operation of the Co Occurring program in cooperation with and under policies and procedures of Spectra Care. Makes recommendations, secures approvals and carries out courses of action to ensure and provide quality service delivery to clients and families in the program. Position will work in collaboration with the Assistant Co Occurring Director regarding on call rotation after hours, weekends and/or holidays and/or providing physical coverage within the program.
Travel may be required within and beyond the five-county catchment area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS/TASKS:
1. Supervises and directs staff.
Supervises all activities of the the Co Occurring program including day treatment, staff, transportation, physical management, client development, food service and safety.
Initiates and develops in-service training for center staff and other interested groups.
Counsels with employees about problems at work, i.e. job assignment, relationships, performances, etc. and investigates areas of concern, resolving these and advising the employee and appropriate management of any action to be taken.
Counsels and maintains an effective work and training atmosphere benefiting volunteers, staff and attendees at the workplace and the class or program function.
Utilizes leadership skills to develop and maintain cooperative spirit and action among staff and individuals connected with the program.
Supervises admissions, discharges and treatment planning.
Coordinates with management concerning Substance Use treatment of clients.
2. Operates program in compliance with Spectra Care Policies and Procedures, including but not also limited to the Alabama Administrative Code, CMS, and all other applicable regulating and contractual entities.
Ensures client records are maintained in accordance with policies and procedures, including Alabama Administrative Code, CMS, and all other applicable regulating and contractual entities.
Serves as the custodian of records for Co Occurring to include but not limited to client charts. Works with the corporate legal department as needed to ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
Ensures administrative documentation is maintained according to policies and procedures, including but not limited to Alabama Administrative Code, CMS, and all other applicable regulating and contractual entities.
Supervises the preparation and submission of required center, state and federal reports.
Prepares for, assists in, the inspection and responds to the recommendations resulting from facility and program site reviews by the Alabama Department of Mental Health.
Provides assessments and delivery of substance use services to clients as needed to ensure quality of care and the accessing of contracts.
3. Oversees and provides therapeutic services for clients within the mental health / substance use program.
Perform Mental Health and/or Substance Use Assessments and make appropriate after assessment evaluations regarding services.
Provide contact to clients and direction in seeking mental health / substance use services or in placing them in services.
Organizes and performs individual, couple, family and/or group psychotherapy to clients. Employs therapeutic techniques and, in conjunction with supervisory staff, determines a course of treatment action involving psychotherapy, medication, hospitalization, etc. Provides follow-up services as well.
Responds to crisis intervention emergencies as needed at the facility during or after office hours.
Develops and follows treatment plan establishing individualized goals for clients in case load.
Provides education on mental illness/substance use and treatment to clients and families as necessary and appropriate. May also provide medication monitoring / crisis intervention / basic living skills.
