The Market President, Community Hospitals serves as the senior executive responsible for the strategic, operational, financial, and clinical performance of UAB Medicine's community hospital network in the Birmingham metropolitan area. This position provides executive oversight to the respective Chief Executive Officers of UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham, UAB St. Vincent's East, and UAB Medical West.

The Market President is accountable for developing and executing a unified market strategy that advances UAB Medicine's mission, vision, and values while ensuring exceptional patient care, operational excellence, financial sustainability, workforce engagement, physician alignment, and community impact. The role serves as a key member of the UAB Medicine senior leadership team and collaborates closely with enterprise leaders, physicians, community stakeholders, and hospital governing bodies to drive the success of the Birmingham-area community hospital market.

• Develops and executes a unified strategy for the community hospital market that aligns with UAB Medicine's mission, vision, and organizational goals.
• Drives growth, market share, service line development, and physician alignment initiatives.
• Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities to improve access, expand services, and strengthen community partnerships.
• Provides overall leadership and accountability for operational effectiveness and financial performance across all market hospitals.
• Ensures achievement of key performance objectives related to quality, service, productivity, growth, and financial sustainability.
• Leads strategic planning, capital planning, and resource allocation efforts across the market.
• Promotes a culture of excellence focused on quality outcomes, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and exceptional patient experiences.
• Partners with clinical leaders to drive continuous improvement and achieve organizational quality goals.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Providers leadership oversight to the CEOs of the community hospitals.
• Fosters strong partnerships with physicians and clinical leaders to advance organizational priorities and improve patient outcomes.
• Builds an engaged, high-performing leadership culture that supports accountability, collaboration, and professional development.
• Champions a culture that reflects UAB Medicine's values and commitment to excellence, engagement, and service.
• Supports talent development, succession planning, recruitment, and retention initiatives across the market.
• Promotes employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
• Builds and maintains effective relationships with community leaders, business organizations, government agencies, physicians, and other stakeholders.
• Strengthens UAB Medicine's reputation and visibility throughout the communities served.

Master’s degree in Hospital Administration, Business, or a related field and ten (10) years of experience at the senior administrative level required. Experience in a multi-hospital system required. Previous experience as a hospital president/CEO required.
