Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:30pm;
Friday 8am - 12pmPOSITION SUMMARY/FUNCTION Performs as a major mental health and ATOD prevention educator within the catchment area of the Center. Serves as a primary outreach and resource person to establish community contact, increase and develop public awareness of identified mental health and prevention needs, develop and present programs to prevent and alleviate further deterioration of the community, up-dates as necessary and serves as a knowledgeable operational liaison between the Center and the communities within the catchment area.
Must obtain and maintain proper certifications for position. Travel may be required within the catchment area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS/TASKS:
Presents prevention programs.
Presents programs to schools, juvenile courts and other community agencies in order to provide prevention information to the designated population served by these agencies.
Ensures communication between Spectra Care prevention staff and other agencies.
Assists in developing contracts and implements those developed with agencies desiring prevention services.
Ensures grant application and required reporting is current and appropriate.
Demonstrates initiative in actively carrying out grants and contracts.
Ensures all statistical data and related reporting requirements are submitted in a timely manner.
Prepares documentation of services provided as required by the Alabama Administrative Code, CMS, and all other applicable regulating and contractual entities or grants.
Represents Spectra Care in marketing / public relations capacity.
Coordinates efforts with the Director of Community Services in utilizing media.
Represents Spectra Care in an educational capacity to various community groups and the general public in coordination with the Director of Community Services.
Performs other duties as directed, including but not limited to:
Treat others with respect and courtesy at all times.
Ensure necessary documentation is completed in a timely manner with minimal errors and in compliance with applicable guidelines and policies.
Receive and respond to inquiries promptly and courteously.
Meet with supervisor as established.
Follow guidelines of Spectra Care Personnel Policy, Spectra Care Clinical Policy, including but not limited to the Alabama Administrative Code, CMS, and all other applicable regulating and contractual entities.
Participate in training, workshops, in-services, and/or administrative meetings as assigned.
Ensure any necessary documentation is completed and up to date before annual leave or personal leave is taken.
Adhere to Dress Code as set forth in the Spectra Care policies and procedures.
Respond to emergency and/or crisis situations as they arise.
Functions and performs well in stressful environments and manages work related stress to ensure the safety of others.
Demonstrates a willingness to work on any unit / program at Spectra Care based on facility needs as directed.
Ability to conform to Spectra Care's Core Values as duties are carried out daily.
Functions within professional boundaries with individuals and others.
Works in a cooperative manner with other Spectra Care employees, individuals, and/or family members.
Performs duties independently and/or with minimal supervision.
Perform all duties with the highest standard of ethics.
Works well with other staff and individuals to ensure safety of program, individuals and other staff.
Other services, tasks, functions, and responsibilities deemed necessary; not otherwise specified.
Regular attendance with timely arrival and departure according to scheduled hours.
Must be able to work full time with rotating assignments as necessary to include but not limited to overtime hours, nights, and/or weekends as scheduled.
To ensure client/employee safety while on duty, must remain awake during scheduled working hours.
Must maintain and pass a current background/criminal history check upon hire and annually thereafter.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS/TASKS:
Attend all required job-related/system training.
Assist in other areas as needed.
Assumes other related duties as assigned.
