Purpose

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Applications, the Senior Developer will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of Pega-based applications across the organization including PRISM, a Pricing Rating Engine for LTL. This role will focus on delivering scalable, high-quality BPM and case management solutions leveraging the Pega PRPC platform. The developer will support new initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure business requirements are met through well-architected Pega solutions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Analyze, design, develop, document, and implement applications using PegaRULES Process Commander (PRPC).
  • Maintain and support Pega applications and deliver enhancements across business units.
  • Lead and coordinate projects of all sizes, including large-scale, multi-team efforts.
  • Develop and implement solutions aligned with Pega guardrails, best practices, and enterprise architecture standards.
  • Create and manage application rules, rule sets, operators, access groups, workbaskets, and case structures.
  • Integrate Pega applications with external systems using REST/SOAP, connectors, and services.
  • Debug and troubleshoot applications using Pega tools such as Tracer, Clipboard, Live UI, and Log Analyzer.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders, analysts, QA teams, and architects to produce high-quality deliverables.
  • Provide technical coaching, guidance, and mentoring to junior developers and project team members.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements

Required

  • 3-6 years of hands-on Pega development experience with strong debugging and application-extension capabilities.
  • Minimum 4 years experience with Pega PRPC.
  • Strong understanding of Pega architecture, rule reuse, guardrails, and maintainability principles.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Experience developing business rules, workflows, UI components, and case designs in Pega.
  • Familiarity with integrations using REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Ability to understand, maintain, and enhance existing applications.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into Pega constructs.

Preferred

  • Pega

    Certifications:

    CSSA or CSA; LSA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience with PRISM Pricing Rating Engine a plus.
  • Experience creating high-level class structures, data models, flows, and BPM solutions.
  • Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), Java/J2EE concepts, version control systems (Git), and Dev Ops CICD pipelines.
  • Prior experience in Agile/Scrum environments and large-scale enterprise application development.
  • Transportation knowledge a plus but not required.

Education
