Manager Data Engineering

Job Summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a visionary Manager of Data Engineering to blend people leadership and technical depth. The role focuses on managing data pipelines from legacy systems to scalable cloud environments using Snowflake, optimizing Snowflake, maturing engineering practices, AI and advanced analytics initiatives, and leading a hybrid team of employees and contractors.

• Lead strategy and execution of how data enters, moves through, and delivers value across systems.
• Transition from Informatica‑based pipelines to scalable, cloud‑native solutions.
• Hire, coach, and reward talent, foster an inclusive and safe workplace, partner with employees to set clear goals and provide performance feedback.
• Manage product or service lifecycle, including maintenance, patching, and new version introductions.
• Participate in technology planning processes, align priorities across IT services.
• Define outcomes and OKRs to deliver cost‑effective, customer‑driven solutions.
• Develop plans and solutions, ensuring effective use of product group resources.
• Communicate and implement new practices to improve organizational performance.
• Manage vendor relationships and agreements to meet service levels and contractual terms.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
• Preferred:
  Master’s Degree.

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience, including 3 years of supervisory or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing and executing solutions to diverse and complex business problems that enable business strategies.
• Preferred practice of Agile methodology.

Competitive salary range of $106,000–$146,000, participation in annual incentive program, comprehensive health & retirement benefits, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and more.
