Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for an IT Network Engineer to join our IT Team based in Mobile, AL;
Grand Prairie, TX; or Wichita, KS. In this role, you will be responsible for the support, availability and performance of data networks (WAN, LAN, Industrial & Wireless, Network Security & Cabling) supporting Airbus Mobile (AL) USA site.

Primary Responsibilities (50%):
- Manage incidents, problems or requests that require L3 support.
- Proactively propose improvements to increase the performance of the network infrastructure.
- Serve as a technical consultant to internal customers in North America and interface with technical teams in Europe.
- Act as the primary technical focal point for regional LAN, Network Security and wireless (Aruba) aspects, and serve as the expert for Airbus Helicopter North America networks.
- Provide day‑to‑day support and management of internal and external partners and operations, including long‑term planning and input toward projects and data strategy.
- Support our technical supplier as an L3 engineer for incident resolution when needed.
- Develop and execute test plans to evaluate IT infrastructure and systems technical performance.
- Report findings and make recommendations for improvement.
Build Activities (50%):
- Provide architectural and technical consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to systems analysts, IT engineers, and other systems architects.
- Document and expand in‑depth knowledge of the company's IT architecture/infrastructure and technology portfolio regarding LAN, WAN, Network Security, Industrial & Wireless, and cabling standards.
- Support and manage an IT infrastructure capacity plan with the Network Product Manager.
- Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a Network technology standards policy for North America.
- Conduct research on emerging network technologies to support infrastructure development, recommending technologies that increase cost effectiveness and flexibility.
- Develop, document, and communicate plans for investing in IT infrastructure, including cost‑reduction opportunities.
- Design, develop, and oversee implementation of end‑to‑end IT integrated systems.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, system analysis, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of relevant networking experience in an industrial environment.
- Expertise with Cisco CCNP or an equivalent networking certification (CCIE preferred).
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
- Expert in LAN, WAN, WiFi, Network security products (proxies, firewall, IDS, IPS).
- 10% domestic and international travel required.
- Authorized to work in the US without current or future visa sponsorship.
- Strong analytical, planning, problem‑solving, interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Self‑motivated, autonomous, and able to prioritize tasks while under pressure.
