We are seeking a Complex Liability Claims Manager (Property Damage + Bodily Injury) to lead a team handling auto and/or general liability claims across both Property Damage (PD) and Bodily Injury (BI) exposures. This role is responsible for driving claim outcomes, managing litigation, and elevating team performance across a mixed‑severity portfolio.

This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring deep technical expertise in both PD and BI claims, including represented and litigated files.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of liability adjusters handling:
  • Property Damage (coverage, estimates, subrogation)
  • Bodily Injury (non‑represented through litigated claims)
  • Oversee end‑to‑end claim lifecycle
  • Provide direction on:
    Coverage analysis, Liability determination, Reserve setting, Settlement strategy
  • Manage litigated claims and outside counsel relationships
  • Drive file quality, cycle time, and indemnity/expense control
  • Coach team on:
    Negotiation strategies, Litigation management, Complex claim handling
  • Ensure compliance with jurisdictional regulations and internal standards
  • Partner with clients/stakeholders (if TPA environment)
Skills, knowledge & expertise
  • 7–10+ years of liability claims experience
  • Direct experience handling BOTH PD and BI claims
  • Strong experience with:
    Represented and litigated BI claims, Attorney negotiation and settlement strategy, Coverage analysis and liability investigation
  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience (Supervisor/Manager)
  • Experience managing multi‑state claims
  • TPA or third‑party claims environment experience
  • Commercial Auto and/or General Liability exposure
  • Experience leading mixed PD + BI teams
  • Claims system proficiency (Guidewire, etc.)
