We’re partnering with a well-established and growing public accounting firm seeking a Senior Tax Manager to play a key leadership role within their tax practice. This individual will help oversee client relationships, provide technical guidance, drive tax planning initiatives, and contribute to the continued growth and development of the firm.
About the RoleThis Senior Tax Manager will serve as a strategic leader within the tax department, overseeing a diverse portfolio of clients while mentoring staff and managers across the practice. The role offers significant client-facing exposure, involvement in complex tax planning and consulting projects, and the opportunity to influence firm-wide processes, client service initiatives, and long-term growth strategies.
Responsibilities- Manage and review complex individual, partnership, S-Corporation, and corporate tax engagements
- Lead tax planning and consulting initiatives for a diverse client base
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing proactive guidance and building long-term relationships
- Research complex tax issues and provide practical solutions and recommendations
- Review work prepared by staff, seniors, and managers while ensuring quality and accuracy
- Mentor, develop, and support team members through training, coaching, and performance feedback
- Collaborate with firm leadership on client strategy, business development efforts, and departmental initiatives
- Oversee engagement timelines, budgets, and client deliverables to ensure deadlines are met
- Assist with accounting, financial reporting, and advisory services as needed
- Drive process improvements, workflow efficiencies, and strategic projects across the tax department
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of relevant tax experience, preferably within public accounting
- Strong experience with individual, partnership, S-Corporation, and corporate taxation
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and oversee multiple engagements simultaneously
- Strong technical tax knowledge and research capabilities
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Proficiency with tax software and Microsoft Excel
- Active CPA license strongly preferred
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses
- Prior experience managing teams and reviewing complex tax engagements
- Demonstrated success developing client relationships and identifying advisory opportunities
- Process improvement mindset with the ability to implement efficiencies and best practices
- Interest in contributing to firm growth, leadership initiatives, and long-term strategic planning
