Join our dynamic team at Airgas as a Plant Operator and play a vital role in our commitment to delivering excellence in industrial gases and related products. As a Plant Operator, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our production facility, including the filling of cylinders, to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
- Operate and maintain equipment within our production facility, including compressors, pumps, filling stations, and forklifts, to ensure a steady supply of industrial gases.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in optimal condition, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
- Safely handle and transport cylinders, including filling and quality checks, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.
- Operate a forklift to move materials and products within the facility safely.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, cylinder tracking, and production activities.
- Collaborate with the team to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure work environment.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in industrial operations is a plus.
- Previous experience in plant operations, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as needed.
