This role takes the lead in building and assembling commercial units and accessories based on up-to-date drawings and specs. What Commercial Technicians Do
  • Ensure all products meet the highest quality standards by checking work during assembly, completing inspection forms, and following engineering drawings and procedures.
  • Follow and promote all company policies, including safety procedures, kitting, and clocking accuracy, while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Report unsafe conditions or equipment, wear required PPE, avoid horseplay, and stay safety‑focused for yourself and others.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional work environment by communicating clearly, treating others with respect, and handling feedback constructively.
  • Show up on time, notify in advance of absences, and stay engaged at your station from the start of your shift through breaks until the end of the day.
  • Build units on time and within estimated job hours, support insulation and production needs, and stay focused and committed.
  • Take advantage of cross‑training, use tools properly, and complete necessary documentation such as non‑conformance reports, part shortages, and engineering changes.
  • Stay up to date on the build process and continuously meet requirements across all stages of production.
  • Be flexible and ready to switch tasks when needed, help out when extra effort is required, and stay open to change.
  • Take initiative, solve problems independently, and offer ideas to improve builds, tools, processes, and work spaces.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support team goals and production needs.
Who Commercial Technicians Are
  • Communicate clearly with team members through both written and spoken instructions.
  • Follow straightforward instructions and handle basic problems using practical thinking in routine situations.
  • Be ambitious, detail‑oriented, and focused on teamwork.
  • Give and receive constructive feedback with a positive, solution‑minded attitude.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Mathematical skills: able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and read measurements in inches and feet.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing instructions.
  • Familiarity with portable power tools and machine tools such as bandsaw, panel saw, chop saw, and grinder.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Reliable transportation to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
Physical and Mental Demands

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and use hands to handle or feel. Fine motor skills are required for wiring components and detailed assembly tasks. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 lbs; larger items require assistance. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required and may change.

The role requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must understand issues, make timely decisions, demonstrate attention to detail, and remain calm under high pressure.

Work Environment

The employee is regularly exposed to moving subassembly parts and fumes or airborne particles, with occasional risk of electrical shock. Work is performed in a temperature‑controlled environment with noise‑control measures, providing a steady work atmosphere.
