A Local Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting for a 13-week contract near Dothan, Alabama. The role requires a broad range of clinical skills, including assessment, triage, medication administration, and emergency interventions. The position offers up to $2,160 per week and the opportunity to expand emergency nursing experience on a short-term travel assignment.
Key Responsibilities:Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to ED patients
Perform comprehensive assessments, triage, and ongoing monitoring based on acuity
Recognize changes in condition and respond promptly to emergent situations
Administer medications and treatments safely according to orders and protocols
Initiate and assist with emergency interventions, procedures, and treatments
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, technicians, and other team members
Maintain accurate, timely patient documentation in the EMR
Prioritize care effectively in fast-paced ED environment
Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, follow-up care, and discharge instructions
Follow hospital policies, infection control, patient safety, and regulatory requirements
Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, communication, adaptability, and teamwork throughout assignment
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
Current and unrestricted RN license eligible for practice in Alabama
Current BLS certification
ACLS certification required
PALS certification required
CEN or TNCC certification required
Strong assessment, prioritization, critical-thinking, and emergency-response skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Skills:
12 months of Emergency Department or Emergency Room nursing experience preferred
Experience caring for patients across a broad range of acuity levels strongly preferred
Previous travel or contract nursing experience is preferred but not required
Additional emergency nursing certifications are a plus
You hold an active RN license and ACLS certification. You have emergency department experience and strong critical-thinking skills. You thrive in fast-paced ED settings and excel at triage
