Assistant Meat Manager - Dekalb

Responsibilities

• Maintain strict adherence to department and company safety guidelines
• Assign duties to the team as needed
• Cut retail cuts of beef, pork, lamb and veal
• Grind sausage
• Order product
• Merchandise product
• Ensure company standards for the department are met or exceeded
• Inspect product for freshness
• Write work schedules and train new teammates
• Provide excellent customer service

• Minimum 3 years experience as a Journeyman Meat Cutter; or equivalent related work experience is required.
• Experience operating a meat saw and grinder
• Leadership experience as a Head Meat Cutter/Meat Manager preferred

The position is 40 hours per week. Flexible availability including weekends is important in our retail environment. Hours may range from 6:00 a.m.

- 10:00 p.m.

• Internal Candidates:
  Store/Facility Teammates – minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Store Support Center Teammates – minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
• If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.

Pay Range: $16.00 - $19.75
