Meatcutter

Serves as the Meatcutter in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) location. The primary purpose of this position is to perform the full range of meat cutting tasks associated with processing beef, pork, veal and lamb into retail and ready‑to‑eat cuts for sales to patrons.

The incumbent performs meat cutting operations, including handling, cutting, trimming, and preparing various cuts of meat. They maintain cleanliness and sanitation of tools and work areas in accordance with required standards.

• Experience preparing ready‑to‑eat cuts and special orders such as crown roasts.
• Proficiency with hand tools and powered meat‑cutting equipment.
• Ability to clean and sanitize tools, equipment, and work areas to required standards.
• Physical stamina: walk and stand continuously; frequently lift, push, pull pieces and bulk boxes of meat weighing 50 to 100 pounds; work in temperatures ranging from –10°F to 50°F.

Works in well‑lighted and ventilated areas; temperature does not exceed 50°F.
