Job Overview
Amentum is a global leader in advanced engineering and innovative technology solutions. This role is contingent upon contract award, security processing, and availability. The position involves supporting security assessment investigations and ensuring eligibility for employment through background investigations and continuous evaluation.
Responsibilities- Provide support for security assessment investigations, including background investigations, reinvestigations, security clearances, and suitability determinations.
- Conduct, review, and analyze internal and external interviews, FBI indices checks, arrest record checks, and other investigative data.
- Summarize data, compose correspondence, and advise on security concerns for Field Offices and FBI headquarters.
- Coordinate investigations, ensure compliance with federal standards and FBI policy, and recommend additional investigative actions, including polygraph examinations.
- Prepare written reports and oral presentations; assess investigative findings and recommend remedial or precautionary actions.
- Maintain liaison with FBI HQ divisions, DOJ, and other agency officials; surface and resolve investigative issues.
- Upload official documents into relevant systems of record and track progress.
- Active Top Secret U.S. Government Clearance; U.S. citizenship required to maintain clearance.
- Two (2) years of experience in personnel security investigations or investigative analysis.
- Analytical ability to review and interpret investigative material, identify security vulnerabilities, and pursue leads.
- Experience conducting database checks, credit reports, and open‑source research for investigations.
- Routine office administrative experience; proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and internet research.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years’ experience OR Associate’s Degree with 4 years’ experience.
Desired QualificationsFamiliarity with Federal Investigative Standards (FIS), Security Executive Agent Directives (SEADs), Executive Orders (EOs), and U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (US CFR).
Work Environment & Physical DemandsTraditional office environment. May require standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers, typing, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, and occasional manual tasks.
Compensation$58,000 – $65,000; salary ranges may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.
