Equipment Operator

The Equipment Operator – Matting Solutions will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The role includes working in all weather conditions and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks, and conduct pre‑ and post‑equipment inspections with proper documentation.
• Participate in routine maintenance such as greasing and ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
• Effectively communicate with all site personnel and practice workplace safety.
• Operate all heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance, and other relevant details.
• Understand ground signals and maintain constant eye contact with ground personnel.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write fluently in English.
• Valid driver's license.
• 1–3 years of experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment on large construction projects.
• Ability to operate equipment independently and with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of safety hazards of construction projects and inspection principles and techniques.
• Skill in reading and interpreting Access and Construction Plans.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to travel out of town during the week or weekends, and work extensive overtime.
