Fire Alarm Technician II

The Fire Alarm Technician II is a mid-level service technician responsible for the installation, programming, inspection, testing, and repair of fire detection and signaling systems. This role requires NICET Level II certification (or ability to obtain) and the ability to work independently on routine service calls while supporting more complex projects under senior technician guidance.

• Performs installation, programming, repair, testing, and inspection of fire detection and signaling systems on a scheduled basis.

• Executes routine and moderately complex service work with minimal supervision.

• Assists senior technicians (Tech III) on larger or more complex projects and system troubleshooting.

• Ensures all services are performed in accordance with manufacturer instructions, applicable codes/standards (NFPA, local AHJ), and Company policies and procedures.

• Schedules and coordinates inspections with customers as required.

• Provides all necessary documentation for Company records, customer records, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).

• Communicates system discrepancies, recommended repairs, and service needs to customers and internal teams.

• Follows up to ensure that recommended repairs and corrective actions are completed.

• Assists with system commissioning, testing, and final acceptance as needed.

• Supports project execution by identifying materials and assisting with job preparation.

• Maintains a high level of accuracy and timeliness in all assigned work.

• Provides guidance and support to Technician Trainees as assigned.

• Markets Company services to existing and potential customers by identifying opportunities for system improvements or upgrades.

• Completes administrative duties including timesheets, service reports, and time & material documentation.

• Maintains required certifications, licenses, and continuing education.

Able to speak, read, and write English fluently

Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Able to lift and move objects weighing up to 100 pounds, work from heights above 10 feet, and work in confined areas

Able to stand for long periods of time and to lift, crouch, reach, handle, push, and pull

Able to drive a vehicle

Able to travel and stay out of town as needed

Able to work in extremely cold and extremely hot temperatures

Able to work while exposed to loud sounds and noise levels
