Transport Driver

Overview

Airgas is hiring for a CDL A Driver in Theodore, AL. The role involves the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders to Airgas Branches, Plants, and customers using a Tractor Trailer. This position includes loading, unloading, and returning compressed gas cylinders.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Load and unload the truck daily with gas cylinders and supplies
• Nurture courteous and professional relationships with customers
• Support deliveries in a timely manner
• Safely secure and unsecure cylinders
• Complete deliveries on customer property sites using a hand cart; emphasis on the physically active and hands-on nature of this position
• Drivers will frequently move in and out of their vehicle

• Valid Class A with HAZMAT (or able to obtain within 60 days from hire date) & Airbrake endorsements
• No automatic restriction on CDL. Must be able and willing to drive a manual transmission
• Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card & endorsement(s)
• No more than two traffic convictions or two at-fault accidents in the last 3 years (or a combination of one traffic conviction and one at-fault accident)
• No driving under the influence within the last seven years
• Must be able to work in a drug-free environment
• Regularly lift 75 lbs and move more than 125 lbs with the aid of material handling equipment
• Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or provide proof of completion from trucking school in the last 12 months

• Forklift experience
