Position Summary
A Captain is a crucial touch point between our customers and the business and he or she works with our customers to ensure an understanding of overall boat operations and services. A successful Delivery Captain coordinates the activities of customers and team members engaged in launching, retrieving and servicing boats. The Delivery Captain also coordinates customer education classes to help familiarize the customer with their new or used boat.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Deliver boats to customer location, boat ramp, boat shows, marinas or other destinations as needed.
- Properly explain features and provide thorough orientation to customers upon delivery.
- Demonstrate additional boating merchandise i.e., aftermarket electronics and navigational equipment.
- Coordinate with the Team to establish delivery date to customer and arrange delivery of boat to the specified location.
- Service boat with fuel and assist in casting off and tying up boat.
- Perform minor engine and systems repairs and adjustments as needed.
- Conduct periodic training classes to help reinforce our customers' boating passion.
- Demonstrate boats on the water, at off‑site events and in the showroom as needed.
- Professionally support customer events including, but not limited to Slipaways, Rendezvous, etc.
- Train the Team on boat handling and safety, as needed.
- Complete minor preventive maintenance on company owned boats on display in the water, including but not limited to cleaning of strainers, starting vessel and checking all systems, topping off water in batteries.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrates advanced seamanship skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years’ experience in marine industry.
Experience of lifting, standing, walking and operating with repeated motions of wrists, hands, fingers; operating motor vehicle; communicating; assessing; hearing, talking, seeing, eye/hands coordination. Physical demands include light to medium work up to 50 pounds needed.
Work EnvironmentOperating in an indoor office environment with controlled temperatures. No adverse environmental conditions expected; small and/or enclosed spaces; noisy environments may occur. Physical demands primarily sedentary with tasks involving light to medium manual effort up to 50 pounds.
