About the role

Knowledgeable creatives and arts educators are invited to join a new sub group of the Isle of Man Arts Council. This volunteer role offers the chance to contribute your expertise to the management of the Arts Councils Modern and Contemporary Art Loan Collection.

The Isle of Man Arts Council exists to encourage the people of the Isle of Man to enjoy the arts, whether through attendance or participation, to provide a sound and sufficient infrastructure for arts on the Island and to promote Manx cultural identity through the arts.

The Modern and Contemporary Art Loan Collection is a national collection of over 350 works of art. The core purpose is to enable the Manx public to access a diverse mix of known and emerging artists and subjects to broaden cultural awareness. The collection supports artists through the purchase and display of their work and safeguards it for future generations.

The sub-group will be made up of two existing members of the Isle of Man Arts Council, and additional volunteers will join to give balance and expertise in the following areas:

* Art in the Manx Curriculum at Primary or Secondary level

* Modern and Contemporary British and International artists

* Arts Education practices

Volunteers will be required to attend a maximum of 4 meetings a year, and in total 10 hours a year. There will be no additional requirements outside of the meetings.

Things to note

A basic police check is required for this post, the cost of which will be covered by the Isle of Man Government.

Please note a relocation package is not available for this role.
