Student Support Coordinator

Provides support to students, parents and school staff on academic achievement with a focus on improving student attendance and behavior.

• Confers with parents/guardians and other community resources regarding educational or social well-being of students as well as other challenges students may face
• Meets with school personnel, students, parents, guardians, community officials, while at all times maintaining a confidential, private, professional attitude
• Maintains appropriate records of student's family contacts
• Submits weekly reports of all activities regarding meetings and communications to administrator
• Documents all work activities on a daily basis on required time and effort log
• Responsible for inventory of supplies and materials that is needed for their position
• Seeks necessary resources that meets student's needs and communicates to parents
• Assists with coordination of special events
• Assists with the recruitment of parent volunteers
• Serves as an interpreter for bilingual students or parents as needed
• Prepares and distributes flyers and announcements for school and community related events
