Position: Project Manager-Major Projects (Water)

JOB DESCRIPTION Primary Purpose

Provide engineering technical development, oversight, project execution, and project management responsibilities in support of a broad range of water facility projects including pipelines, storage, processing, and disposal. Coordinate and communicate with Tallgrass commercial and operational groups to support business development, apply basic engineering analytical concepts, and develop a plan for successful project completion that meets business objectives.

Education
  • Project Manager - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or Project Management, or equivalent from an accredited institution along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant job experience.
Experience / Specific Knowledge
  • Minimum of 6 years in major project environments with direct engineering or project management experience on natural gas or hazardous liquid projects such as produced water, pipelines or facility projects including transmission, metering, pump station, storage, gathering, processing, and disposal.
  • Full complement of project management skills: scoping, estimating, work breakdown structures, cost and schedule control, design and construction management, team building, resource planning, procurement procedures, and permitting.
  • Basic understanding of midstream projects.
  • Experience executing at least one major capital project with a total installed cost over $100 million.
  • Strong analytical skills to develop concepts and work with Tallgrass Commercial personnel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting ideas, proposals, and results to business leaders and internal and external customers.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize daily work, track and manage large projects, and meet strict deadlines while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Understanding of corporate policies, procedures, practices, and processes related to the Pipeline business segment and its customers.
  • Basic economic analysis related to project justification.
  • Knowledge of employee/employer relationship expectations.
  • Solid leadership, communication, motivation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, Outlook).

  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record for travel.
