Are you familiar with warehouse management? Do you have experience in warehouse receiving, storing, inventorying, distributing, or as a supply clerk?
The Arizona Department of Correction, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking an energetic, motivated individual to join our team as a Storekeeper. This position is responsible for ordering, receiving, storing, conducting inventory, and distributing a wide variety of materials, products, supplies, and equipment.
Job Duties- Performs tasks such as ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying and distributing a wide variety of materials, supplies and equipment.
Monitors and maintains stock levels - Maintains stock history files by utilizing an automated inventory control system and the State Procurement System
- Coordinates and verifies outgoing shipments and incoming deliveries of materials and merchandise against packing slips and purchase orders to ensure accuracy of material, supplies and equipment
- Maintains and oversees warehouse product to prevent damage
Conducts annual inventory - Completes required documents to accounts payable to ensure prompt and correct payment to the vendor
- Assists in the resolution of delivery discrepancies
- May train, supervise or direct other staff in the completing of these responsibilities
- Stock shelves, rotate items and stage items for deliveries
- Responsible for securing warehouse and tool control
- Process and completes property records for new purchases and state surplus disposal forms
- Utilizes inmate labor to perform warehouse functions and related tasks
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge of:
- Store keeping/warehousing practices, procedures and systems to include shipping, receiving, stock rotation, and inventory control
- Special storage requirements for hazardous materials and supplies
- State procurement procedures
- State property/equipment receiving and disposal procedures and requirements
- Basic recordkeeping, report preparation and statistical data interpretation
- Warehouse operations safety, security and accountability practices and procedures
- OSHA, Fire Codes and other related regulations related to warehousing operations, storing and stocking
- Records retention requirements and procedures
Skill in:
- Operating specialized warehousing equipment
- Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships
- Verbal and written communication
Ability to:
- Read and interpret a varied range of reference materials related to hazardous material storage and distribution
- Adhere to ADCRR safety regulations and mandates related to warehouse sanitation, security and operations for material handling equipment
- Check incoming/outgoing items against appropriate shipping/receiving documents
- Maintain inventory control records
- Follow verbal and written instructions
- Apply sound critical judgement
- Articulate changes, problems and methodologies to others with less experience and/or knowledge
- Work independently and quickly adapt to changing priorities
- Work in a prison environment
- Experience in warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, inventory control and fiscal management
- Experience with automated computer systems and software
- Working knowledge of safety procedures, OSHA regulations, fire codes, and record-keeping requirements
