Job Summary

Provide administrative and clerical support to the School of Nursing, including managing reports, correspondence, budget coordination, academic records, and project planning.

Responsibilities
  • Gather information and prepare reports and correspondence; research and resolve issues; maintain records for the SON with Georgia Board of Nursing, National League for Nursing, ACEN, and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
  • Assist Dean, SON with academic unit budget management, tracking, and requisitions; manage liability insurance for nursing faculty and students and memberships in professional nursing organizations.
  • Perform administrative duties such as typing, filing, data entry, form processing, calendar management, mail handling, application processing, and notification of applicants regarding deficiencies, acceptance, or denial.
  • Order textbooks and ancillary materials through SGSC bookstore; process travel/expense vouchers, customer service, and supply inventory management.
  • Plan and coordinate projects, events, and special activities (orientations, consultations, exam proctoring, Career Days, etc.) and coordinate classroom assignments, meetings, and facilities management.
  • Perform technical duties, assist webmaster with website updates, and support students with HESI A2 registration, NCLEX‑RN licensure application assistance, background checks, and testing registration.
  • Maintain file systems, compile and organize fiscal and academic records, and perform basic data calculations.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of data and databases.
  • Advise others on processes, procedures, and services; resolve policy‑related issues; assist faculty with student advisement and enrollment activities (Banner, ROAR, SOAR).
  • Review and verify documentation for completeness and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required Experience: Two (2) years of related work experience.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Customer service skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and Outlook; modern office practices and equipment; web page building; SGSC and USG systems; basic arithmetic calculations; and data management.
  • Abilities: Maintain confidential records; perform routine arithmetical computations accurately; establish effective working relationships; exhibit a positive attitude; handle coworkers, students, faculty, and staff tactfully; communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions.

Proposed Salary: $35,000 annual base salary plus benefits.

Conditions of Employment

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and eligibility verification. The position may require a credit check if using a purchasing card or working with cash. Completion of SGSC annual compliance training is required. The employee must be able to perform duties without reasonable accommodation.
