First Academy is seeking a Christ-centered Head of School to lead the day‑to‑day operations of the school, support faculty and staff, and help advance the mission of Christian education with a biblical worldview. This person will provide spiritual, instructional, and administrative leadership while working closely with the First Academy Committee and church leadership. First Academy is a Preschool–8th grade ministry of First Baptist Church Douglas, serving approximately 300 students.

• Lead the day‑to‑day operations of the school
• Supervise, encourage, and support faculty and staff
• Promote academic excellence, curriculum development, and instructional improvement
• Help cultivate and strengthen a Christ-centered school culture
• Work with leadership on planning, budgeting, policy, and communication
• Build strong relationships with parents, churches, and the community
• Promote the school and support enrollment efforts

• A clear and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
• Agreement with and support of the school’s statement of faith and mission
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• A master’s degree in leadership, or willingness to complete one within a specified timeframe
• Education certification
• At least four years of successful classroom teaching experience

This is a full-time, salaried, 12‑month contracted position. The Head of School is responsible to the First Academy Committee and Associate Pastor and supervises teachers, staff, part‑time staff, and volunteers. The Head of School is expected to be an active member of First Baptist Church Douglas and to serve as a ministry staff member of the church.
